Defense of Family
They are decrying the decision of the Massachusetts Supreme Court.  They are saying that allowing gay marriage will destroy marriage!  My goodness they act as if Armageddon is upon us this very day!
Who are they?  Well, the Catholic Diocese of Boston is leading the rush by many members of the clergy, but they pretty much describes most of the clergy in the United States.
I guess that they believe that, given the choice, most Americans would rather marry someone from the same sex rather than the opposite sex!  Here I thought I was in the majority (I really want to be married to a man, specifically my husband), but from their outcry, I suspect they think I am in the minority!
Well, they are wrong!  I am sorry to have to deliver this bad news, but allowing gay unions will not have any impact on regular heterosexual marriages in this country or anywhere.  Nope, no impact whatsoever!
Just a note: The following acts are wrong!
Calling a gay person a pervert, disgusting, or any other name.
Using any kind of force or violence against a gay person, this includes trying to pass laws to stop his activity.
Judging a gay person for their lifestyle.
Just a note: The following acts are right!
Introducing a gay person to the Gospel of Christ.
Using argument or discussion to help them understand God's will through the Bible.
One thing though remember, before you start introducing others to their sins, you should be without sin yourself, remember Christ Jesus said to us"
John 8:7-11
But when they continued asking him [Jesus Christ], he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
We, as humans, tend to prioritize sin.  We think that killing a fellow human being is more wrong, a worse crime than, oh, stealing a grape at the supermarket.  God, however, sees each as a sin and equally bad.   This means, of course, assuming homosexual behavior is a sin, it is just as bad, evil, and disgusting, in God's eyes as stealing the grape at the supermarket, lusting after your neighbor's spouse, or failing to save 10% of your pay.  They are all equal in God's eyes, equally bad.  Oh yes, and since Christ Jesus died on the Cross for all, God has forgiven all of us, even gays, our sins!
God gave us all free will.  He does not take kindly to those of us who try to subvert that.  If two men, or two women, or even a man and a woman, wish to live in sin, that is their choice!  God forgives them anyway!  Why can't we?
Amen
