Forgiveness and Healing
To err is human...
To forgive, divine.

One of the hardest things to do is forgive.  Many people hold grudges for years and years.  They are hurt and they are not willing to let the perpetrator off the hook.  I want you to know, you do not forgive for the benefit of others, you forgive for yourself.
Those who hurt you may seek your forgiveness, but when they do they are really seeking their own forgiveness.  They need to forgive themselves for the hurt they caused and your forgiveness will not help them to achieve that.  Many who hurt you will never seek your forgiveness, nor care whether you forgive them not.
Holding a grudge hurts only you.  Hate and anger are like acid eating away at your spirit leaving you empty and hollow.  If you hold on to your hate and anger long enough they become all you have.  Now you can't forgive, you can't let go for if you do you are left with nothing, just and empty hollow shell with no spirit and no love and no energy.
Forgiving is the act of letting go your hate, letting go your anger and opening yourself to love and the healing spirit.  Forgiving is the start of healing.
Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy Will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day
Our daily bread
And forgive us our Trespasses
As we forgive those who Trespass against us
Lead us not into temtation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the Kingom
And the Power
And the Glory
Forever and ever.
Amen
How often have you recited The Lord's Prayer?  Have you ever realized that you are making a contract with God and Christ Jesus.  When you say "And forgive us our Trespasses, as we forgive those who Trespass against us" you are making a promise and God is making a promise.  He will forgive us, all we need do is ask.  We promise to forgive all those who have caused us hurt.
Ephesians 4:31-32.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

AMEN
