Where do we come from?
Who created us?
How were we created?
Is all this merely accident?
Is there a God?
These are good questions. Questions humans have been asking for a very long time. Ever since the dawn of mankind. Today these questions have produced quite a controversy ans different men try to answer them from different sources.
One group looks to the Bible. Another group looks to the evidence on and in the earth. Other groups look to the heavens and into the deepest recesses of our bodies. All of these things, the Bible, us, the earth, and the heavens were created by God, so one might expect that they would all give the same answer. Yet, many feel that they provide different answers; science looking at the heavens, digging into the earth, and studying humans versus religion looking at the Bible.
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Refering to God's Gifts To Man we can begin to understand that all these things - the Bible, the heavens, the earth, and us - must be telling the same story. If they appear not to tell the same story the problem must be with our perceptions. We may be misunderstanding the Bible, misunderstanding the results of our senses, or both!
When these gifts seem to be in disagreement it is up to us to take a second look and try to reconcile the differences.
I have read the Bible and I have studied many of the sciences and I have no problem reconciling the several sources of information. The Bible is saying the same thing that science says. It is only a matter of understanding.
Amen
