In Remembrance of 9/11
On 11 September 2001 a group of men committed an act of murder. They destroyed the World Trade Center in New York City. They say they did this in the name of Allah. They are wrong, they did it for satan. What they did is evil, vile, and against every tenent of Islam.
I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to all those who experienced loss as a result of this tragedy.
I also want to thank those men and women who risked their lives in efforts to save others. Particularly, I want to thank the brave men and women of the New York City Police and Fire departments.
The men who committed this act tried to justify their murder and terrorism by saying that they are merely acting for God. They tell us that God has ordered them to take vengeance on those that they murder. These men do not do the work of God, rather they do the work of satan, the deceiver. They may believe they are working in God's name but in reality they are being deceived. A simple review of the Bible and other Holy writings will show the falsehood of their belief.
Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people; but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Jehovah.
Deuteronomy 32:35
Vengeance is mine, and recompense, At the time when their foot shall slide: For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that are to come upon them shall make haste.
Romans 12:19-21
Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath of God: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.
But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
The Celestial Stations 85.8
And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised,
These are passages from Holy books which these murderers say they believe in. Whether you call him God, Jehovah, or Allah, He did not tell these men to murder and maim.
The men and women who perished due to their evil act are in my prayers every day. Those who have to live on after one of their loved ones perished due to their evil act are equally in my prayers. I will even pray for the souls of the men who have fallen under the spell of satan and commit murder and mayhem for him.
It is now three years later as I write this. The memory and grief are still fresh in the worlds memory. Many actions have been taken as a direct result of this evil, many good, some simply perpetrate the evil.
There are many who want vengence -- an eye for an eye. Yet, our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus has said:
Matthew 5:38-48
[Jesus said] Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
but I say unto you, resist not him that is evil: but whosoever smiteth thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
And if any man would go to law with thee, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:
but I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;
that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same?
Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Mathew 22:36-40
Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
And he [Jesus] said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the great and first commandment.
And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.
Mark 12:28-31
And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one:
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.
The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Jesus is clearly pointing the way. Forgiveness is the Lord's way, the Christian way. We will hold on to our grief until we can forgive those who were seduced by satan into commiting this evil and horrible act.
Forgive, but never forget the victims and always revere the heros of 9/11.
Amen
